You Need To Know About This...

Dwindling traffic tells me that no-one is finding Pharm Giles funny any more, hence my lack of activity just right now.  I don't suppose folk at Pfizer or Merck are in the mood for much of a laugh at the moment, for example.

But my old colleague Peter Cook gives us reason for cheer.

He has recently published a freebie e-book, Punk Rock People Management, that cuts through the ghastly bullshit of the HR industry and tells it how it should be. Here's a link to a low-res version - and if it takes your fancy, help Peter feed his family by buying a printed version here.

Or you can Kindle it...

This is, of course, little comfort to those being persecuted by the sociopaths who comprise the ranks of pharma HR. One can but hope that when the pharma industry regroups and eventually rises from the ashes of its executive-led greed, lies and overall uselessness it is currently mired in, its HR wonks will have a purpose beyond existing solely to facilitate the sociopathic and often illegal whims of their corporate masters.

Peter's tome could kickstart the evolution of pharma HR staff with backbones...

  4. You are too kind - my pseudo academic ramblings on the gargantuan growth of the HR industry don't even compare with your incisive ironic insights into the farming fraternity Giles. Stand and deliver your medicines or your life! :-)
